Forever Grateful Comes to Golden Gate Park — And Love on Haight Is Coming Along for the Ride!

We have been keeping a pretty BIG secret… and we are SO excited to finally share more about it!

Forever Grateful is coming to Golden Gate Park September 5 – October 25, 2026, and Love on Haight will be helping bring the retail and merchandise experience to life!

If you have already visited the incredible Forever Grateful exhibition at Haight Street Art Center, you know just how special this project is. Now the experience is getting even BIGGER with Forever Grateful at Golden Gate Park, taking over the historic County Fair Building — also known as the Hall of Flowers.

And this one is going to be an EXPERIENCE.

The Original Furthur Bus Is Coming to San Francisco!

Yes. THAT Furthur.

The original psychedelic, hand-painted 1939 International Harvester bus that carried Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters across America in 1964 is coming out of its Oregon home for its first public exhibition before undergoing a major restoration.

This is not a replica.

This is the ACTUAL BUS.

The bus that became one of the most recognizable symbols of the psychedelic counterculture will be right here in Golden Gate Park.

And that's only part of it.

Forever Grateful at Golden Gate Park will be an immersive celebration of the art, music, history and community surrounding the Grateful Dead and the culture that grew around them.

Visitors will experience large-scale projections, original artwork, memorabilia, live performers, puppetry, hands-on experiences and community storytelling — and even Jerry Garcia's BMW.

And Love on Haight Is Doing the Merch!

THIS is the part we have been especially excited to tell you about.

Love on Haight is helping create and run the merchandise and retail experience for Forever Grateful at Golden Gate Park.

For a shop born and raised in the Haight-Ashbury, getting to help create the retail experience for a celebration of the Grateful Dead and the culture surrounding them feels pretty freaking magical.

We are working on merchandise, special pieces and a retail space that we want to feel like an extension of the exhibition itself — colorful, artistic, collectible and VERY San Francisco.

Because if you know us, you know we don't believe a museum shop should just be a table full of souvenirs.

We want it to be FUN.

We want you to explore.

We want you to find things you can't find everywhere else.

And most importantly, we want the artists and the incredible visual history surrounding this culture to be part of the story.

We can't wait for you to see what we're putting together.

Created by Deadheads for Deadheads

Forever Grateful celebrates the Grateful Dead not simply as a band, but as the center of an extraordinary community of artists, musicians, makers, photographers, fans and wonderfully weird humans who have kept this culture alive for generations.

That's also a huge part of what Love on Haight has always been about.

Supporting artists.

Supporting our community.

Keeping the Haight colorful.

And making sure the next generation gets to discover some of the magic that happened here.

Getting to play a part in Forever Grateful feels like a pretty natural extension of everything we've been doing all these years.
