Karen Dillingham - Westwind Tie Dye
I started Tie Dying for a living in May 1990
I got laid off from my job and had been doing tie dye as a hobby. I borrowed $100 each from 6 of my girlfriends, paid my first show fee and ordered t-shirts and leggings. My first show was a huge success and so began my tie dye journey.
I love to get in my studio, turn on some music and get into creating. Van Morrison, Keb Mo, Leftover Salmon, Donna the Buffalo, old 70’s Rock and Folk, Blues, Jam Band, I just love music.
I like to envision the joy of people wearing my tie dyes as I make them. I infuse them with that good energy.
I am honored to have my work in Love on Haight.
