What Makes Love on Haight Tie-Dye Different? Meet the Artists Behind the Dye
If you have ever walked into Love on Haight, you know we have A LOT of tie-dye.
Like... a LOT. 😂
But one of the things people don't always realize is that the tie-dye hanging in our shop isn't all coming from some giant factory making thousands of identical rainbow shirts.
Our tie-dye is made by artists.
And that is a HUGE part of what makes Love on Haight, Love on Haight.
Tie-Dye Is Art
We have always believed that tie-dye is wearable art.
There are so many different ways to dye a piece of clothing. Spirals, geodes, mandalas, ice dye, scrunches, rainbows, earth tones, super bright colors, subtle colors and techniques that some of our artists have spent YEARS perfecting.
Give the exact same blank shirt to five different tie-dye artists and you can end up with five completely different pieces of art.
That is the magic.
No Two Are Exactly the Same
One of our favorite things about real tie-dye is that your piece is YOUR piece.
Even when an artist repeats a design, the dye moves differently. The colors blend differently. The folds are slightly different.
That means the shirt, dress, hoodie, pants or jacket you fall in love with at Love on Haight may truly be one of a kind.
And we think that's pretty freaking cool.

And someone opened it up for the first time to see what they created.

We LOVE that.
